It should be noted that Dugin’s reputation as Putin’s intellectual influence is vastly exaggerated, and that his primary audience is in the west. It’s too early to call the west fractured. It’s the west’s schemes that are fractured, which is another way of saying America’s long held plans for world dominance have been thoroughly wrecked. This reality must now be accepted by the west, most notably by the US. Trumps national retrenchment is not something he chose, it is something being forced on him. The idea that the US and Russia will now become fast friends is fanciful. Russia does not trust America, and for good reason. That will not change in the foreseeable future. As well, Europe will not become great. That would require a truly friendly alliance with Russia. Again, there is no likelihood of that occurring. Russians have written Europe off as a bunch of hateful nazis. Europe will gradually accept being the western peninsula of Eurasia, but they will be on the wrong side of the tracks, as it were. Trump and Putin are not the two architects of the new order. Xi and Putin can perhaps be described that way, Trump is merely acquiescing. The future is as the BRICS describe it; multi modal. Spheres of influence, to be sure, yet not permanent ones.
