Amid the Trump administration’s efforts to eliminate diversity, equity and inclusion practices in schools, Oregon Governor Tina Kotek is ordering the state’s Education Department to “hold the line” and refuse the administration’s demands.
Gov. Kotek issued a statement on Thursday in response to a letter the U.S. Department of Education sent to state education departments on April 3, giving states an ultimatum of eliminating DEI initiatives or losing federal funding for schools.
