“ In the United States, it is illegal to make death threats against the President, Vice President, or other government officials. Under 18 U.S. Code § 871, anyone who knowingly and willfully makes threats to kill or inflict harm upon the President, Vice President, or any other official can face serious criminal charges.
The law specifically states that a person can be punished by up to 5 years in prison for making such threats. The law applies regardless of whether the person intends to carry out the threat or if they are simply making an idle or rhetorical statement.”
So lock these people up …send the message before it gets worse
It probably should also be against the law for ANY member Congress to FAIL to openly and declaratively, in Congress and on the record, condemn such statements.
Their silence amounts to de facto support. (And given the cited law, that should be an impeachable offense)
