Heritage minister pitches CBC/Radio-Canada overhaul and a major funding hike
To improve the quality of the corporation’s programming in both English and French, boost the availability of “trustworthy, local and impartial news” and make the broadcaster a more reliable source of information during emergencies, St-Onge is pitching a funding increase that could nearly double its yearly appropriation.
She said the exact level of funding will be determined by a future prime minister or finance minister, but proposed it should rise over time as the broadcaster’s mandate evolves.
In addition to an appropriation hike, St-Onge is proposing to take the public broadcaster’s funding out of the normal budgetary process, which is subject to the political whims of the day, and embed the funding formula in a separate act of Parliament so that the money is preset based on population levels.
Liberal Party proposes a $1.2BILLION dollar bribe (in addition to the $1.2Billion already being paid to the CBC for positive press coverage) which will surely result in Liberals “walk on water” style stories from CBC during the upcoming Federal election. Liberals also propose that Canada embed these ongoing grants/bribes by removing CBC from the annual budget review and ensuring they get “X” per Canadian citizen in perpetuity. While Liberals say that CBC is critically important, many citizens recognize it as merely a propaganda arm of the Liberal party!
ALSO why is the LIBERAL government being able to propose ANYTHING or give funds away to foreign countries while parliament is shut down via prorogation? NONE of these actions should be allowed while they have the parliament locked out of discussions (by a Governor General that was reported to be on the Board of Trustees for the Trudeau Foundation — isn’t this a massive conflict of interest — who vetted this appointment?)
A COUNTRY WHERE THIS IS EVEN POSSIBLE IS NOT A DEMOCRACY …BY DEFINITION
WEF’s destructive policies will continue until we have an election, and there is talk of calling off any election (emergency) if a trade war develops. Canada’s stance adds to that possibility.
