God The Father! Would you admire a father who, among his children, selected one above all others, allowing him to kill and main who ever he wished? That ain’t my God. My God says we are all his children, made in his image and likeness. He taught us to love our neighbour as we love ourselves! The Old Testament was written by Jews for the benefit of Jews! I am not upset about anything in the Old Testament. I consider it to be tales written for illiterate people. I’m upset that Jews, with the benefit of American armaments, are committing genocide against people whose ancestor’s have lived peacefully alongside them for thousands of years. They haven’t the right to do that, and they haven’t the exclusive right to that land. They didn’t have that right until 1948, and most of the world believes they don’t have it now.
If Jewish people don’t consider themselves the chosen people, how do they figure that God countenances them taking land as their own that they haven’t controlled for almost two thousand years until the Americans and the British, through the UN, decided to place them on it, thereby displacing the Palestinians?
I don’t know the whole story but part of it is that The UN controlled that god forsaken piece of land in the Dessert and There were Jews and Arabs already living there ( a meager exhistance) and the British and Americans and UN being the Rulers of that land “Gave” it to the Jews who had been displaced from their lands in Europe

Most of the Europeans who came to Israel weren’t victims of oppression. They all came after the war, and they came for religious and communal reasons, at the call of Zionists in Israel. Their properties in Europe weren’t stolen. They were sold by the owners, or they were kept. As well, many African Jews were called, as were Russian Jews. Add to these the many Jews in North America who felt the need to reinforce the “Jewish Homeland”. This is what people mean when they talk of a “settler society”. These weren’t inhabitants of the land. The inhabitants of the land were dispossessed, in many cases, by settlers from the countries.
Your argument about Europeans settling in North America is disingenuous. The long history of humanity has societal victims and victors. It has mostly to do with superior technologies, if I can say that about gun powder and guns and such, and superior numbers. Of course, the victors ascribed to themselves superior human characteristics and superior gods. I would say this later condition is fully embraced in Israel today. Evidence is rife that no such characteristics or gods exist in Israel today, yet they are subtly put forth as reasons condoning collective atrocity.

Fully, you know I have respect for you. You must also know, that despite my strong opinions, I bear no ill will toward any particular people or culture. I’ve been disappointed by some of your comments recently, with regard to Tenter’s opinions concerning the longstanding conflicts between Israel and its neighbours. Most westerners have grown up in an environment of pro- Israel propaganda. I grew up in it too, and for most of my life I believed that propaganda. I was late in coming to an obvious reality. Israel is not some poor group of peaceful, religious people trying against all odds to get along with its neighbours, and survive. Israel is a rapacious, insistent, aggressive upstart in a relatively benign neighbourhood of backward, tribal peoples. Israel itself is a tribal people. The relatively small community of Jews in that neighbourhood existed amicably among Muslims and Christians, seemingly forever. Then Westerners decided to rearrange things.
