   Not surprising with the large number of Arab refugees Trudeau’s coalition brought into our country, coupled with the genocide occurring in Gaza.

     I am a Canadian of Jewish Heritage . My 4 grandparents emigrated from Europe in the early 1900s ( Romania ) to escape antisemitism

     It has been a thing forever…long before Israel was conceived .

     When I was growing up it was way under the surface but I would experience it’s ugly face periodically

     Since I am completely “secular” and do not really participte in the culture or religion I am relatively insulated

     BUT I do agree it is Virulent and I really do NOT understand it

     I guess I am a Zionist because I believe Israel has a right to Exist

     But But they “stole” the land from the Palestinians ! Well thats one way of looking at it . Another theory is they were given the land by the guys who were ruling it at the time The British…maybe it was the British who stole the land from the sparse population living in the stone age on this god forsaken desert …and where did those people get this land…they conquered the previous inhabitants …If you read the bible it says God gave this land to the Jews but first they had to displace the current inhabitants….and it wasn’t pretty if the account of the situation from the Bible is to be believed…rape pillage and genocide …but God said the Jews were his chosen ones…so

     Meanwhile just 300 short years ago a completely different society “owned” the land that YOU all ( Americas and Canadians) are living on…until another group of people who were mercilessly being persecuted in Europe…fled to what is now North America and “stole” the land you are living on from the Savages who “owned” it for centuries. No one lives on land that was not conquered many times over throught human existance . The latest example is Eastern Ukraine and Now The whole country of Syria .

     But how can there be such hatred towards this tiny little fraction of the Community…as the article says we are less than 1 %

     Most Jews I know ( actually ..all Jews I know ) are compassionate peace loving comunity minded socially left leaning solid citizens ….who interact positively with all races and creeds and nationalities )

     To see all this hate and wishing us all DEAD is startling .

     I was unaware of the extent until I read this article from Bari Weiss

     I do not understand hating a tiny sliver of humanity for just wanting to have a place to live

     GAZA is a horror story for sure.

     It is a neocon thing not a Jewish thing

     Zionism is nothing more than the belief in Israel’s Right to exist…I do not appologize for that

     Thruought history Jews were hated and ostricized and scapegoated in every country they populated…so having a place to live in peace was always a dream for many .

     My Dad was one of 8 Brothers who fought in WW 2 one way or another. He and My Uncles ( born in a small town in Northern Ontario ) were salt of the earth . Solid citizens who never had any malice towards anyone .

     They lived through that perilous time ( includig the Great Depression ) and emerged as successful contributors to the Post war economy and were respected by almost everyone of every race .

     I would feel terrible if I did not comment on this situation for them ..as I know they would be saddened at what this Country has become .

     So much hatred for such a tiny sliver of humanity made up mostly of good solid peace loving productive citizens

     Last thing I will say about this is I have always been aware of the part of the Christian Community who still blame the Jews for what happened to their “King” 2 Thousnad years ago

     Thats a loooong time to hold a grudge…and I would be remis if I didn’t remind that Jesus was a Jew too …
