TRUMP TRUMPS THE TURD
Speaking of immigration, yesterday the Trump Effect landed on Canada. You;re welcome, Canadians! Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced —on Twitter— a surprising change to our northern neighbor’s immigration policies. In short, Canada will soon close immigration. Not just a little. For the next three years — most of President Trump’s term. And long enough to finish the mass deportation program. In his teaser video (there’s a longer YouTube version),
the smug Fidel-Castro-lookalike explained that, regretfully, there’s just been too much immigration lately, and Canada is all stocked up at the moment and can’t accept new orders. Trudeau justified the change just by tossing a few statistics around; global humanitarianism is now, officially, dead. Or at least it can’t get its application approved.

Taking Trudeau at his word, he just announced a shocking new anti-human principle that it’s moral and virtuous to close the borders whenever you decide immigration is getting out of hand. That principle would shock US captive media and the Democrats, who are still following the old orders that immigration is a sacrosanct obligation, and no one should be turned away if they can come up with any reason to stay, such as if back in the home country, everybody is eating the cats and the dogs.
Maybe whatever Trump is planning will make closing Canada look tame by comparison, and Trudeau enjoys a window of political opportunity to stem the tide without much blowback.
Or, more likely, Trudeau is worrying that Trump will ship all our illegals up to virtuous, humanitarian Canada. I mean, these people have to go somewhere.
Either way, Canada’s about-face is tangible progress. Behold the transformative power of the Trump Effect. The Trump Effect even works on Trudeau’s brain, which modern science had long ago given up as a lost cause. So.

What an irksome character! He’s AOC without the tits.
Just doing what lying libtards always do when expecting an election fairly soon. Changing policies and positions because the ones he has been implementing for years are not polling well.
Nonetheless, it’s a welcome change, albeit many many years too late. Don’t get me wrong, I despise the turd and his minions as well as all the morons who voted for him, and I get it that it’s probably because of the polling, the upcoming election etc. But we forum-ites in Canada have been without a shred of hope for so long that this at least is one small change for the better. As the saying goes, don’t look a gift horse in the mouth.
Good points. Our hopes turned into positive changes coming, hopefully yours will soon as well.
Speaking of immigration to Canada, the India-Canada spat has caused the Student Visa program to dry up as a path to Permanent Residency (PR). My neighbour, is a lecturer (non-woke) at the local University. She had a full course load of 4 courses for the Fall term. The term starting in January has left her with one course to teach. A few reasons given. The cut in the Indian Visa program, the cost of living compared to the entry level jobs they can qualify for upon graduating and the loss of the path to a PR card.
A new Graduate (single) in Canada faces at least $4500/month living expenses (no frills) all in after tax. Entry level jobs may only pay $60,000 or $5000/month. This is not owning a car. They realize they will likely never own a home and possibly a car. Family? Forget about it even on two incomes. What’s the point of coming!
Where are they going? Some are looking into the Middle East which apparently has an enormous need for workers and English is the language of commerce. Tax free.
It isn’t true that the India-Canada difficulties will have much effect on immigration. These difficulties have arisen because Canada has accepted mostly Punjabis from India. This is the group that fights for an independent Khalistan, and Canada’s protection of active separatists, many of whom are regarded as criminals by India, is the point of contention. Why would Punjabis demur from coming to Canada when the government here favours them in their dispute with the Indian government. Many of these people are here to continue their battle with India from a safe harbour. They are certainly not ideal immigrants. It is also pathetically Canadian to become embroiled in a dispute that is no longer much of an issue in India, yet here we manage to keep the pot boiling. What fools we are!
