I like the 40’s big band music – but had to vote for the 50’s 60’s 70’s which is where I landed after Sirius XM canceled 40’s on 4. No sense adding 40’s music to the list, though. It won’t get any votes, but man, that was great music.
Interesting what’s in the lead ATM.
In the morning I like certain kinds of (subdued) jazz … no vocals and no brass. Over the years, my favorite jazz streams never seem to stick around long. For a twist on that, Caprice has a dark jazz channel, along the lines of the soundtrack to Twin Peaks.
Afternoons for me are freeform … alt rock, swing, 70s prog rock, surf rock, zydeco, floyd … whatever I haven’t listened to lately.
I have about a dozen psybient stations on file, but the best one by far closed shop a year or two ago. That genre’s hey day was 15 years ago after Shpongle’s breakthrough recordings. eg live https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_XLKzw5CoEc
I was a DJ for a short time in NC ca late 70s, doing jazz and rock.
For the longest time, I tried to keep up with newer music.
By no means ALL OF IT. Too much rubbish.
But I always found cool new music.
Lately, its gotten TOO HARD.
Shpongle is in a world of its own. They rarely do live shows, but they did get one in at Red Rocks a few years back 2018/19.
Psybient … at least for evening hours. (favorite for just chillin)
