‘Big Red Flag’: Gates Foundation Gets Diplomatic Immunity in Kenya

Under the new status, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and its employees are exempt from legal action for acts performed in Kenya as part of their official foundation duties. Will the move set a precedent for other billionaire philanthropists?
“While nations around the world have long treated Bill Gates as a head of state, it’s now been practically codified into law in Kenya,”
Schwab said the decision has raised “alarm bells” within the country and across the world. One public advocate, through a Freedom of Information Act request, has already petitioned the government for documents related to the decision. Others worry the decision to grant immunity may set a precedent for other billionaire philanthropists.

So who within Kenya got paid and how much $$$ for issuing a “get out of jail free card” AND for allowing accused depopulation advocates to buy land in the country. Hard to imagine that this would have been handed out for free!
One victim’s parent out on “safari” could render that immunity null and void.
Gates Foundation is setting up a regional operation in Kenya that will cover all East Africa. The immunity primarily relates to capital and its sanctity. That money cannot be touched by any lawfirm nor frozen by any court inside or outside Kenya nor impounded nor distributed by a judge in the event of a lost case. Presumably this immunity comes with a large injection of investment capital in the local economy that could be in the billions of dollars (which is an utterly massive amount of money in Africa). A Kenya paper notes that “…the foundation will now have the capacity to “enter into contracts, institute and defend legal proceedings, and acquire, hold or dispose of movable and immovable property in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Kenya”.By its immunity it sits outside the law which makes Kenya a location where the Gates Foundation can store some of their funds should it have reason to leave America (for example). I mention that because guys like Armstong are talking about capital controls coming. The foundation is way out ahead of that possibility in this case.
Farmer — thanks — was hoping for your input.
is this new “deal” good, neutral or bad for average Kenyan citizens?
You got me there. I have no idea.
