Vacant Land Tax
The federal government has announced it is launching consultations on the taxation of vacant land. After running the economy into the ground they are confused why developers have stopped building, so instead they will tax them into insolvency.
Second, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance launched consultations on the taxation of vacant land. The federal government is seeking feedback from provinces, territories, and municipalities that are interested in implementing their own vacant land taxes. By taxing vacant lands, landowners would be incentivized to maximize the full potential of their land—building homes.

if anything should be taxed, its developed land that’s underused, or neglected (after several years of sitting).
Empty warehouses, etc.
Tax it until its sold to someone who WILL use it.
