The Biden administration is making plans to announce one of the largest immigration relief programs in recent history, developing a policy that would offer legal status to hundreds of thousands of immigrants living in the country without proper documents, four people familiar with the plans told CBS News.
A program being developed by White House officials would offer work permits and deportation protections to unauthorized immigrants married to U.S. citizens, as long as they have lived in the U.S. for at least 10 years, the sources said, requesting anonymity to talk about internal government plans.
The proposal, known as “Parole in Place,” would also open up a pathway to permanent legal status and U.S. citizenship for some beneficiaries by removing an obstacle in U.S. law that prevents those who entered the U.S. illegally from obtaining green cards without leaving the country.
Another plan being prepared by the Biden administration would streamline the process for so-called DREAMers and other undocumented immigrants to request waivers that would make it easier for them to obtain temporary visas, such as H-1B visas for high-skilled workers.
The measures could be announced as early as Tuesday
I have always found it odd that news reports speak of Biden saying this, or Biden has decided, or Biden’s policy is this. Biden has made no policy decisions since he became vice president in 2008. Biden is, as James Kunstler puts it, a cigar store indian. Just because the deepsters decided he is a president, doesn’t mean we have to go along with it. Good Lord! He was dumber than toast when he had all his faculties, and that was many moons ago. I’ve said for a long time that Biden would be the nominee if they could keep him upright. That is proving to be a herculean task.
As it applies to politics, the Peter Principle, has a new meaning.
Success and advancement is directly attributable your ability to be bought by special interest groups. The more clueless you are, the higher office you will attain. Strider you are sadly right. As long as the Deep State can keep him fogging a mirror and upright, he is their man.
The bloated forever bureaucracy (Deep State) has become so transparent in their need to keep the captured Democratic Party in power that they are buying votes anyway they can at the expense of the overburdened taxpayer and the entry level legal American worker.
The media (Fourth Estate) should be independent of government but is now the Fourth Branch of Government. They tell us what to think. That is why so many in the US believe Biden is a great President. The population just parrots what they are told to believe. I hear this every time from strangers on both sides of the isle.
My trust level of most politicians has reached new lows as I see each side whip their members to vote the line at the expense of the people.
Trump comes from a business centred family, not political. He is a builder, not a destroyer. Is he a good in business? He says he is. Should we believe this? Celebrity worship has made us believe this. Family money and celebrity made him so. People flock to his rallies. In a way we are being played but it is way better than the alternative. The other factor is he is the underdog as he is a threat to the Deep State or he says he is. We will find out if he returns to the White House. Possibly the level of cleansing of government is so great that a revolution will take place. Both sides think they are right and may go at each other.
In Canada, it appears that roughly 70% know there is a problem but we have 16 months of continued destruction but the turnover should be peaceful as Canadians are not used to revolutions.
In the US, it could be that the numbers on each side are equal. It’s the Centre who just want to be left alone, seldom vote (up to 30%), that will decide it. People are born a Democrat or Republican and seldom change. There are exceptions of course.
I believe the independent “leave me alone” will vote only because Trump is the underdog and for no other reason. America loves the underdog. We have all seen videos of Black Democrat voters voice support for Trump only because of the Lawfare going on. They identify with the Underdog. Not always a good way to look at things but it may be a turnaround for Trump.
Of course you reward criminals who broke the law entering illeglly, amnesty and citizenship in time for many to vote Democratic in Nov. So you tell everyone around the globe to come, break the law, enter illegally in the future and we will reward you as well. Sheesh!
