Ukraine withdraws U.S. Abrams tanks from front lines after they’re defeated by cheap Russian drones.
The arrival of the US M1A1 Abrams tanks in Ukraine was hailed as a turning point in the war. Coming in at roughly $10 million a unit, the Nato stalwart was supposed to provide the armoured fist that would punch through the Russian lines. But tactics evolve quickly in warfare, and Russia’s use of surveillance and hunter-killer drones has led to heavy casualties for Ukraine’s tank fleets. This is alarming for NATO. If Russia has found critical vulnerabilities in our armour, our borders are beginning to look very vulnerable.

Arms manufacturers in the west are living through their worst nightmare. Their products are on full display in Ukraine, and they are being revealed as second rate technology for the world to see. Russia can count on a significant boost in its arms sales for decades to come. Their stuff works!
Even a Houti tribesman with a grade three education and a goat skin coat can take out an Abrams tank these days with little more than 15 minutes training on a drone. Can’t beat that price ratio. Tanks are therefore worthless on a battlefield. Their real use now is against domestic unarmed populations inside city limits and that is exactly where they will get used until the last of them is burnt up in a civil war.
