Absolutely pathetic performance for the silver miners today vs SLV
Reward-free risk about sums them up. Faded all day long while silver strengthened.
Usually not a good sign for near term price action, but who the hell knows.

AGQ and CDE performed well.
Among the juniors, AZASF approached 52-wk highs

AGQ is triple levered silver, so obviously it will outperform SLV on an up day.
And of course you will be able to find individual stocks that manage to outperform. Look at the ETFs instead, like SIL and SILJ (SILJ actually performed worse than SIL today).
The silver miners as a whole are by far the worst performing asset class in the PM sector over the last 7-8 years. Would have been infinitely better off in the metal.
Maybe that is about to change, but the chart’s haven’t indicated any such breakout to speak of.
Sir Nautilus,
It is the darkest before the dawn, so I was just sharing the tiniest peek of light
I have very little of my portfolio allocated to AGQ and CDE, as well as AZASF.
Not trying to talk my book.

I own 14 out of these 15 juniors.

AGQ is 2x not 3x but point stands. USLV was the 3x, long gone.
(They tend to pull the ETFs just before they perform; check WTID last month)
Sector is on fresh (re) buy signals for me, and should make more gains this month after a respite soon.
Excellent point, Sir Pedro.
AGQ is a trading vehicle, never a long term buy and hold.
Learned about it first in 2020.
Bought at 39.6 (Oct 2020) and 43.9 (Nov 2020)
Partly sold twice at 52 and 54 in May-June 2021
Still holding the rest, a small number (0.3% of my portfolio)
If it were not for these vehicles, I’d always be adding cash to buy juniors on the cheap.
We all know how much hurt that can cause, for years.
Lesson learned.
