Chad gives German ambassador 48 hours to leave country
After criticism of the Chadian government by Germany’s ambassador, N’Djamena orders Berlin’s envoy to leave the country.
“This decision of the government is motivated by the discourteous attitude and the non-respect of diplomatic customs,” the country’s Communication Ministry said on Twitter.

AFRICA RISING !!
It’s true that they are getting more assertive. Since the opening of the African Union Headquarters in 2012 the Union has started to take their own collective affairs much more seriously and begun to work together cooperatively in ways that had not been seen before. One important example of this is when the AU recently voted against the amendments the US had put forth for changes to the impending WHO Health Accords. So the AU has become acutely aware of their own power when they vote as a bloc to represent African interests rather than always being pushed one way or another by the myriad European, Asian and American agendas. Money alone does not move them anymore. And that is the key. In the past the governments were seen as easy marks by just buying off the leadership. Administrative changes and policy organization has altered the landscape. In the UN each country gets one vote no matter how large or small your country. So African votes suddenly matter to those larger countries trying to direct global policy.
