I just got this in my email a few minutes ago.  A follow-up on the massive staffing shortages cause by the Toronto Public Library’s vaccine mandate.

If you’ve lived in this city for a while you may know that a couple mayors ago the mayor wanted to shut down half of the public libraries because they were too spread out and not used very much and big savings could be made by focusing on a fewer, larger and currently more popular libraries.  The backlash by the Library administration was powerful and the cost cutting idea dropped quickly by the “conservative,” “fiscally responsible” mayor.  The TPL at that time wouldn’t even allow it to be discussed but surprisingly found enough money in their “already underfunded budget” to mount an advertising campaign against it.

Now the Toronto Public Library has done to themselves what no politician has ever been able to even discuss in City Council.

Covid made them do it.
