Follow up to Sir Chartsmaster’s post “There’s More To Analyzing Gold & Silver Than Textbook Technical Analysis”
Sirs CM and Plunger,
Writing this as a new post just to push it to the top of the forum:
Sir CM posted today: https://goldtadise.com/?p=511932
Now, I sold 91% of my remaining holdings of SVBL, all long-term gains, no fewer than 18 (eighteen) times, in a time span of 7 months 2/25/2021 to 9/20/2021, in a price range of 0.7175 to 1.2.
Many a time, while and after selling, the thought came to me whether I’m selling too early, as the long endless downward price movement of years seemed to have finally ended with a big upwards price explosion.
Today it hit a new 52-week low of 0.44.
Had I not done this, my realized profits for the year would have been 20% lesser.
Charts?
Sentiment?

Not sure if you had a question or point? Whatever you are doing seems to be working for you. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
All I asked was what would cause such a huge upward move, followed by a crash to new 52-wk lows?
If you can, please take a look at the chart and tell me what TA says in this particular case?
Sell partly/all when price is 20-30-40% above 200-day EMA?
I just got lucky, that’s all. Scalping some gains from a few junior miners is “working for me”, but I’m still not able to nail down a pattern, or even decide which ones to keep for the long term.
Thanks,
GL
Welcome to “investing” in gold/silver.
It’s a huge crapshoot until the trend goes up with confirmation after confirmation.
And still you have to stay on your toes. A very manipulated market, far worse than the general markets.
