These media giants, IMO, are network effects monopolies whose value (to consumers) is that everyone shares the same platform. Like we learned decades ago with VHS and Betamax. It doesn’t make sense to have dualing platforms.
What I would suggest however, is that they be precluded from buying out upstarts (aka potential competitors), or adding on features through acquisition. They already have the first mover advantage and shouldn’t be able to leverage that into other markets.

Exactly.. therefore there is no value. Which is why I had a FB account about 8 years ago for a few months and canceled it.. I deplatformed them before deplatforming was cool!

But in the US, there is Section 230, that governs Communications Services, and the legitimate censorship problem you all raise means they should be regulated instead as a common carrier — a pipeline. And then you’re back to my point, which is that you don’t break up a public utility.
You are completely correct about this. Anything that makes it into the MSM, especially when it “breaks” in the MSM is what they want you to see. It can be their message, a distraction away from something you don’t know about(they don’t want you to know about) disinformation etc. Other examples, the Panama Papers release, the trial baloon on the FED CBDC, the leaking now after all these years of the trading by FED Presidents and Vice Chairman Clarida etc. It is like a magician, look for the misdirection.
Right, and it makes it so much easier to discern the “news” or the story once one understands that NOTHING is allowed to be put on these MSM platforms unless it is intended to promote an intended view. This is how one can immediately know that this 60 min “whistleblower” was fake.
Totally agree on both counts, especially 60 minutes. They suck, they have a narrative to which they stick.
Yes, fake in that she was going after them for putting profits ahead of people(what a public company is supposed to do) not for their real detriment to society, ie censoring conservatives and or truth tellers regarding Covid, vaccines etc. Once again deception and misdirection.
