How Many More Examples Do You Need?
And some of you STILL believe the FBI(CIA and other agencies as well) are honorable, law abiding institutions looking out to protect US citizens? As I have stated on numerous occasions, the FBI was corrupt from day one by Hoover and has been a political Federal police force used to blackmail and intimidate those who don’t follow the leftist party line and gives a free pass to those who do.(Hillary, Hunter, etc.) I am not talking about the honorable men and women who joined the FBI believing they were doing good(many have). They have been pawns used by the people who run the FBI just as the honorable, patriotic men and women who serve in the military have usually been pawns used by the military industrial complex to carry out endless wars that accomplished nothing but caused thousands of deaths and wasted trillions of dollars. https://www.zerohedge.com/political/fbi-wants-family-members-snitch-each-other-thought-crimes
It’s always “it’s just a few bad apples, most of the (insert name of agency) are solid, hard working Americans.”
Not true. The entire FBI is corrupt and compromised. No way to obtain truth. No way to obtain justice.
Listened (sadly) to a woman at the pool yesterday, talking about her son (rightfully proud of him.) He has wanted to be an FBI agent since he was five. Signed up for ROTC, joined the National Guard, enlisted in the army in intelligence. He’s now four years in (after getting a paid-for college degree,) did a tour in Iraq and now stationed in Germany. In two more years he will have the qualifications to pursue his FBI dream.
The FBI will chew him up and turn him inside out. Hard enough to believe he puts up with all of the corruption shot through the army.
Fortunately, I simply kept my mouth shut. It would have been like challenging someone’s fear of covid. Impossible to overcome. But what a waste of a good life and outstanding talent.
Words have been used in so many twisted ways that they mean (or cease to mean) so many different things to so many people. The word “left” is an example. (Those who consider themselves rightists or conservatives should remember that for many “liberals” someone like Romney, a Cheney, or a McCain would be in the far-right category, for example. Leftists fairly often refer to the D party, certainly its leadership, along with the MSM, as right-wing.)
Be that as it may, the FBI spent much of its existence attacking or infiltrating groups that have traditionally been considered “leftist”. I believe this contention was backed up by the Church committee hearings (attacks on the Black Panthers, the Socialist Worker’s Party…, various “dirty tricks”; “dirty tricks against MLK, usually not considerated a right winger). I used to have a book by Hoover in which if I recall correctly he boasted about there having been multiple CPUSA meetings where the majority of those in attendance were his agents. It is often believed on the left (correctly or not, I do not know) that Earl Browder, the head of the CPUSA starting in the early 40s was Hoover’s man at least as much as Stalin’s. (That Browder, BTW was the father of the Browder of Magnitsky fame.)
The Federal Bureau of Investigation’s predecessor organization under the Wilson administration was largely dedicated to attacking the Industrial Workers of the World. This radical union – a hybrid of anarchist and marxist influence – was bad enough for agitating for the usual union things even as a war was going on; for putting forward a vision (whether ridiculous or not can be argued) of an essentially libertarian society run from below — but worst of all was against participation in the war. Palmer, Hoover’s predecessor, hounded the union mercilessly while Wilson’s propaganda operations caused many of its members to be lynched. (See “Palmer Raids”.) Some of the IWW’s members eventually joined the CPUSA, succumbing to leninism, a top-down command-economy thingie, essentially counter to the IWW’s bottom-up vision (or fantasy). A few remained in a tiny remnant IWW, but it was largely destroyed with significant help from Palmer, Hoover’s predecessor.
The FBI organization and its predecessor under Palmer did what they did. They bolstered their bureaucratic interests, which were to bolster their leader’s interests, which were generally to bolster the interests, overall, of those around them who had goodies of power. I am leaving out what happened with “organized crime”, but have I gotten anything too too wrong?
Well, you could have continued on up into Kennedy’s assassination, the Waco debacle, Ruby Ridge, the Montana assassination of a U.S. citizen, and the current exposure of the FBI as a pack of lying traitors…
Don’t use the acronym FBI. Instead just substitute the correct phrase “National Police”. It then becomes much easier to understand what this organization is all about.
I did not say “it’s just a few bad apples” I said it is the leadership which anyone who joins must follow to advance their career. That is the problem with all organizations. You are either a go along to get along type or if you are independent and think and act for yourself you leave and are either an entrepeneur or independent contractor. You made my point about all the young people who join the military and or alphabet agencies wanting to serve but ending up pawns in the system.
Exactly right. No intent to put words in your mouth, simply my interpretation.
I believe we are on the same page. In previous posts I have addressed some (not all) of those you listed.
I think it is something that is true, something many could reasonably agree on, and something substantial, to say that bureaucracies can be dangerous, especially if they operate in secret, and especially if they have the power to kill and incarcerate easily. If they have associated PR (or propaganda) arm or support (Hollywood, “influencers”, as well as the official press), all the more problematic). Also, if (as alluded to above) once you’re in such an organization, you probably have a hard time doing what you might properly want to do.
What is not exactly easy to do is to figure out how to prevent problematic bureaucracies from arising (or for making sure bureaucracies are Good). All sorts of people over the years (to state the obvious) have had their nice sounding ideas on how to prevent this sort of thing, but so far often the reality… Stating the obvious, huh?
Yes, Karl, obvious but true. That is the problem with bureaucracies in general and particularly in govt. There are no realistic ways to reign them in. They become self serving, entrenched and more about preserving their power than carrying out their intended function. FBI,FDA,SEC, Federal Reserve Bank etc.,etc.,etc.
