If you let the air circulate and whatever is in the air disburse is that not better than having plastic catch all the germs and keep them in front of your face
When you co to the cashier do you not think whatever the last guy there was breathing out is concentrated and stuck on that plastic ?

This is logical. As wearing masks also increases risks. See my previous post on this…nurses actually had higher incidence of influenza than nurses who wore no mask.
