The 30 week bollinger bands have never been tighter.  Each time the bands have gotten this narrow it has preceded a very large move in price.

The difficulty however, is that you can often get a large initial move in the opposite direction of the ultimate trend.  If that were to happen to AXU, I would guess it’s possible that it hits its rising 50 WMA (currently at $2.37), or maybe even just below that level, before it rockets higher.  That would represent a pretty dramatic drop from here, but if you are a bull, it would represent a tremendous buying opportunity.

In fact I would be surprised if AXU just ramps higher from here without a headfake move lower first.  It’s possible, but looking at history, it seems unlikely.  That sort of thing just never happens in this sector it seems.  There always has to be drama (i.e., a flush) before a major upwards move.
