UPDATED
Absolute bloodbath at Wash Post as 300 journalists shitcanned — One third of reporters gone.

Those actions include shutting down almost the entire Sports section, closing the Books section and cancelling the daily Post Reports podcast, sources at the newspaper said.
One of the most severe cuts comes in the form of a “restructuring” of the Post’s Metro desk, which covers D.C., Maryland and Virginia.
The Post’s international coverage will also be markedly reduced, though some bureaus outside the US will remain open.

Good news: The paper’s former editor, Marty Baron, who retired in 2021, said in a statement that “This ranks among the darkest days in the history of one of the world’s greatest news organizations.”
May darker days yet come for the leftist propaganda rag.
The only section worth a lick (ca 2000 when I left) was the Wednesday Food section with recipes and wine reviews.
But around the time I left, the internet was taking hold, offering so much more.
As for their Sports section, the internet took over with scores on west coast games, and local teams in DC area have been pathetic for decades.
These days, not much to be said for Corporate News outlets anywhere.
The world is bigger, and their filters are smaller and only the clueless swallow their biases.
