Remember back to the 60’s when very few had Credit Cards. The vast majority used a layaway plan or paid with cash. The consumer was constrained.
Now almost anyone who can fog a mirror can obtain a card. As someone mentioned before, this was the beginning of trackable currency.
You can be denied a purchase.
With a Credit Card one does not even think about the cost of a purchase. Painless and hidden. Most of us are so used to the convenience.
We are part way there as a CC mimics CBDCs. Many will fall for the convenience.
