In his latest missive JHK discusses Trump going to Davos and how he thinks things will play out. I hope he is correct but I’m not sure. Why is Trump backing up on another issue? This time it is who he will name as the new FED Chair. He has been dragging it out and playing games for six months. At first, it seemed his usual tactic of keeping everyone guessing and off balance. That was OK for a few months and he led everyone to believe it would be Hasset or one of two current or former FED members. Now he is leading people to believe it is going to be Rick Reider, who I don’t know his whole track record, but DO know he is currently with Blackrock. That is someone I don’t want leading the FED. From what I understand he will have to pick one of the Sitting members because whomever he wants to pick will not be confirmed by the Senate
There are 4 or more Red Senators who are pissed off at how he is treating Powell. If they don’t confirm the Pick Trump has no option but to chose an interim head from the existing Governors apparently
That was my take as well, until he started suggesting Reider. Again it could be just keeping everyone guessing and that is fine but get it over with already, it is the longest, drawn out anticlimatic announcement in history. As long as it isn’t Reider because Blackrock is criminal like most of the established financial industry.

In the annals of military history, 2026’s heroic Defense of Greenland will go down as one of the shortest-lived and least well-staffed military campaigns of all time. But, if Germany’s immediate about-face when threatened by a tiny little tariff is any sign, not to mention its inability to quickly deploy any more than thirteen troops, this thing should be all over soon.
However, I am sure, regardless of the pick, this person will be lowering interest rates quickly, which is what Trump ultimately cares about as he believes it will ensure a roaring economy, and as Bill “I did not have sex with that woman” Clinton once said, it’s the economy stupid!! That said, yes Blackrock is evil incarnate, and I really don’t want anyone from that entity running the Fed. But, the plebes rarely get what they want, do they?
Agree AA. Regardless of who gets that Job the real Fed head will be Trump….why not ….He is already King 🙂
