AT THE BEGINNING OF THIS YEAR IT TOOK 2 AND A HALF ONE OUNCE SILVER COINS TO BUY A BARELL OF OIL

ONE BARELL OF OIL WEIGHS ABOUT 306 LBS = ~ 5,000 OUNCES
SO THATS A HELL OF A LOT OF ENERGY IN THAT ONE LITTLE COIN
My wife and I are traveling today and had lunch at a local cafe. $25 for 2 coffees and a muffin – just shy of a full ounce of silver. A full ounce will only buy a moderately dinner for 2 (and no tip). Silver is still INCREDIBLY cheap.
