   I don’t believe anyone can predict the future. Like whats going to happen on Thanksgiving or whenever. Not attacking anyone here. We have healthy opinions here. I like to buy bargains. Take any gold producing stock and they are making a killing digging up an ounce of gold for $900 or so and selling it for $1900. I just bought one of my favs DRD at 11.24. It sold for $18 back on July 27. Looking at charts does not give you the full picture. Today could be a one day wonder of technical selling. Who knows? Nobody. But bargains? Buying when on the cheap? DRD is producing 175000 oz of gold per year. They expect to increase production to 200,000 oz. Their AISC dropped 12% last year. They pay their CEO next to nothing. No brainer.

     I strongly feel the Time & Price models within my Cycles work give me an edge. I have been posting for weeks now that Gold and PMs had topped and were moving into their next Intermediate Cycle Low (ICL).

       You must be a billionaire with those fail proof cycles! Why do all the cycle guys have to have subscription services if their methods are rock solid? Should be able to retire without having to hassle with pissant subs. 😉

         Cycle theory literally embodies the concept that “nothing goes up in a straight line.” You will always get profit taking events in a bull or bear market.

         The problem is, even if you know the average length of a cycle, you have no idea how high it will go, when it will top, or how low it will go at the cycle bottom (all you know is that it should make a higher low in a bull market). That’s why cyclists are all billionaires. Add in the stress of a leveraged position and capital gains taxes, and even a cyclist can underperform a simple buy and hold investor.

           Good points but I would add that standard Fib level retracements are very useful and can be calibrated based on Time. Gold topped in Week 20 which is bullish indicator for the next Intermediate Cycle as there should not be that much Time for it to move dramatically lower based on my normal timing bands.

         I have used Cycles for my personal trading for almost 10 years now. Keeping detailed charts improves my own trading, so posting that content is not really that much extra work at all for me. I used to do it here on the “Tent” for free until Fully suggested that my work was good enough to start a paid site… 😉

           Surf City uses Chartology AND Bressert Cycles and his work is excellent IMO.

           He rarely gets clobbered on days like this…unlike me…who doesn’t always pay attention to him

         Silverhawk, BTW, I am not a Billionaire but I did manage to retire from the corporate world at age 55 and have made my living trading since then so I am doing ok…

   It isn’t predicting the future. It is reading the charts and using experience to make educated guesses. Nothing wrong with buying good quality mining stocks at support levels on the charts even now. My prediction of reentering near Thanksgiving is for actual metal prices will probably not be breaking out higher before then.
