A few days ago, the Council of the European Union, the executive body, sanctioned Colonel Jacques Baud and 11 other individuals and legal entities. The sanctions involve the freezing of assets, a ban on all EU citizens and companies from making funds available to them, allowing them to engage in financial activities or granting them economic resources, as well as a travel ban. In essence, this is equivalent to declaring the civil death of the citizen concerned, who can no longer legally access any form of income, either past or new, and cannot move around.

Two things should be emphasised.

Firstly, this draconian punishment is being imposed for something that is precisely and solely a “crime of opinion”, as there are no criminal or civil charges.

Secondly, the punishment is not imposed by a judicial body, but by an executive body, thus without going through a procedure to ascertain any liability.

In the latest incident, Israeli police arrested five settlers suspected of breaking into the home of a Palestinian shepherd in the southern West Bank overnight between Monday and Tuesday, in what appeared to be a rare and unusual intervention by Israeli authorities.

To make it simple for everyone:

The Posse Comitatus Act prohibits the usage of federal military forces to enforce domestic laws within the United States.

However, there is an exception to the Posse Comitatus Act, known as the Insurrection Act, which allows the President to bypass Posse Comitatus in the event of insurrection. Mind you, the actions of Pritzker and Johnson over the last few months, openly engaging in rebellion and refusing to enforce the laws in Chicago, meet the legal criteria for “insurrection”, which is also extremely vague and essentially up to POTUS’ discretion.

In conclusion, the Supreme Court confirmed that if Trump wants to send troops to Chicago, he will need to bypass Posse Comitatus by invoking the Insurrection Act.

Meaning, that the only thing standing between Trump legally sending troops to Chicago, and any city he wants, is a public proclamation that he is invoking the Insurrection Act and a public warning for the insurrectionists to disperse, before sending in the troops.

So until Trump publicly announces that he is invoking the Insurrection Act, he’s not allowed to send the troops in. But all he has to do is give the order. It takes two seconds.

Trump has confirmed many times that he is willing to do this. Here he is on 10/6/2025 saying he will invoke the Insurrection Act if he has to.

A spokesperson for the US Department of Education confirmed the plan, which will mark the first time a portion of borrowers’ paychecks have actually been at risk since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, when collection activity was halted.

More than 42 million Americans have student loan debt, which now exceeds $1.6 trillion. There are currently more than 5 million student loan borrowers in default, a number which could explode to roughly 10 million borrowers soon, the Education Department said in April.

Starting the week of Jan. 7, the Education Department expects around 1,000 defaulted student loan borrowers to receive notices of administrative wage garnishment, the spokesperson said. After that, the number of notified borrowers will continue to increase.

Hundreds of Christians in China will likely spend Christmas in jail this year, according to a recent report. Starting on December 13, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) mobilized “more than a thousand police officers, SWAT units, anti-riot forces, and firefighters” in the Zhejiang Province’s Yayang Town in Wenzhou City, raiding churches and conducting mass arrests of Christians, ChinaAid reported Friday.

The Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) department has officially confirmed it is developing a digital ID for certain licenses and permits.

The digital ID claims the government can replace and be full “digital versions” of the “physical credentials they already provide today, like work permits and boating licenses.” “Instead of only having physical credentials in their wallets, people will also be able to securely store their digital credentials on their mobile devices,” says the government.

According to ESDC officials, the digital IDs can be shared online or in-person “when needed, making it easy for departments, organizations, and businesses to validate their information.”
