   This is one of the cheaper gold development plays in the market. Al will depend on the new environmental study to be published soon. It seems spock is getting less speculative with plays like that although it all depends on the ruling of impact on indigenous people or not, but with Bolsanero this should be no problem!

     As far as I can see, Spock has no shares of this. There are no entries of price or share numbers.
     The same with African, none.

   I guess too cheap to ignore development plays will be the place to make money in gold the next 6 months, after that explorers will follow. Time to look at SPP, VGZ, CKG, NAK, MAX,…

   Also note some shared characteristics (person, an institution) with AGG).

   I have not studied the matter in detail so I do not know with certainty other than that I will avoid.

   Even if IKN is understating things one theoretically could be missing out on a huge opportunity with Belo Sun. Ditto with AGG. There might be a monster gold deposit with either and investing in either or both might change your life for the better, forever.

   But worth reading and thinking about.

     There are other monster deposits worth looking at too, with less political an company risks.

     When I wrote that there might be monster gold deposits I was writing in the sense that there also might be monster gold deposits in or beneath your backyard. I was being hypothetical. I didn’t mean that I had any particular thought of monster deposits with BSX or AGG (or not)–just not paying attention to the matter.

     One can make vast quantities of money with overhyped companies without good deposits. There’s nothing to say that an overhyped company with unwonderful insiders can’t happen to have the discovery of the century. I just meant, don’t blame me if you read Otto’s piece and as a result don’t get rich. It’s just that there are too many question marks, and that, as Alex33 notes, there are companies with fewer company risks. BSX has also alienated the locals badly for years, as I think Alex33 is implying. Not good on several levels.

       Full agree Karl, I recently sold some names that had too much emerging market risk. People forget about the problems that can happen overnight in countries like Tanzania, PNG, Brazil, Bolivia, and many others. BSX its mine will be 10 km near indigenous sites. I prefer Nevada/Canada/Australia. And with the declining production profiles at majors producers, at least these safe deposits can be acquired . I doubt too many companies will be interested acquiring exotic deposits with too much risk involved. I do however like West Africa, but prefer a producer or explorer that is present in multiple countries to offset specific country risk.

         On Nevada/Canada/Australia–

         I personally have confidence in recommendations from “Otto” of IKN with respect to Peru and Chile, probably Argentina (not that he’s likely to recommend anything in Argentina). I am inclined to think his reliability may drop off elsewhere in Latin America but consider it still useful. One of his limitations (in my opinion) is that he does not seem to stick carefully to his own advice all the time however when it comes to specific recommendations, especially outside Peru, Chile.

         Even Canada or Australia may be tough to figure out. There are different rules and sensitivities in different regions and jurisdictions.

         So I agree more or less with you. Nevada (+ some other US jurisdictions, maybe); selected parts of Canada, and with Otto’s help Peru, Chile, maybe Mexico and other in the Americas. After that ????? Africa and other places may be great if you know what you’re doing, but I don’t think I’m going to buy anything new there. I hardly know the US, where I’ve spent the vast majority of my life.

         I just looked. It would be good if the part with points 6, 7, 8, having to do with some basics like not losing money, were posted on this website periodically.

         One can do well with different strategies. One can do well buying high and selling higher. One can buy all at once and then sell all at once. However the strategies he recommends of buying early on at low prices and taking what you put in as partial profits, and being always aware of what you need for expenses–these are great points–especially the one of having money to pay for expenses. I have made so many mistakes by not following these rules it is pitiful. I am scared I will still make these mistakes.

         Years ago “Jesse” at https://jessescrossroadscafe.blogspot.com/ wrote about how around 2000 he told colleagues in the hi-tech bizz to sell sell sell sell. Many or most wouldn’t. They had their (I think he named names that were popular then–seemingly invulnerable data storage companies, not just airy dotcoms) and were on paper rich or almost rich. Then they weren’t. It was gone. It’s not just us, but it’s perhaps more extreme with juniors.

   There was a webinar on last night with John Doody as the guest presenter selling his newsletter. During the webinar, he said he would disclose one cheap gold stock that has the potential to go up 5x’s and possibly up to a 10-bagger. Needless to say, it was NevSun Mining, and all those in attendance bought it this morning (except me of course). I bet John Doody is taking profits into this rise today.

   (* The IKN newsletter tends towards this level of (for me) tedious detail, but it’s usually more about important-for-me things like company financial statements or copper holdings in London, Shanghai, and Comex; +/- pix of site visits; etc — and not so much language criticizing pumpers/dumpers etc. But the IKN mentality is towards this sort of detail. I didn’t read this blog piece much since I’m not really too interested in Brazilian land law or BSX.)
