   Pfft. That guy is a shill. Hard for me to say that because it was Armstrong that got me out of gold some years back. He’ll steer his ship into the rocks and tell em how right Socrates is while he’s doing it. My favorite thing about him is how he tells us inflation is meaningless for gold while at the same time saying that gold wont really get going until it surpasses its 1980 inflation correlated high. And he’ll use inflation charts to present it. You cant make this shit up.

     Armstrong is merely saying that gold has not gone up over 30 odd years since its high in 1980 in constant/inflation adjusted dollars….in fact gold has gone down in 33 years in inflation adjusted dollars. The average price of gold in 1980 was
     $1946 in 2014 constant dollars and in 2012 and 2013 the average prices of gold were $1669 and $1411 respectively….so gold has been NO HEDGE at all against inflation in 33 years ….
     And Amrstrong is ONLY saying by using the 1980 inflation high/inflation charts that gold has to achieve a higher high than the 1980 inflation adjusted high before its GAME ON…gold has been making lower lows for 33 years according to these 2014 constant dollars and until it makes a higher high than $1946 then there is no bull market in “real” terms only in nominal terms

   I gotta back up my Pal Hal..Socrates…he monitors short term, intermediate term and long term and while long term might show a bearish reversal that doesn’t mean Socrates is not ALL IN recommending LONG exposure in the short term….Armstrong asks Socrates what positions should be taken for right now, short term, intermediate term etc etc.
   I think I am going to buy the Socrates package because you are right it is easy to get tripped up when all one hears is a bearish reversal figure put out there that could easily mean longer and not in any way negate a BIG rally and a BIGGER short squeeze imminently like today’s with a STRONG buy from Socrates

   Armstrong went bullish at the end of May based on gold’s outside reversal. He said that we have room to go to 1264 which the first monthly bearish reversal.

   I’m NOT an Armstrong follower but I take information from many places and he got this move correct.

   Carolyn, all i want to know right now from Socrates is should a player have been into gold and silver stocks or not as of yesterday. Or does Socrates not lower itself to address such mundane questions?

     I’m not a subscriber to the Socrates “plan” so I had no idea what Socrates was advising yesterday but I do know that just because gold has hit some bearish reversals on the weekly or monthly charts predicting bearishness intermediate term doesn’t mean that being long isn’t the right thing to do TODAY or short term—so I have to fall back on other TA analysis like Mark’s for example that has been making a compelling case recently to be long miners with a stop loss in place.

   Thank you, Carolyn. I have been following Mark too and my own analysis. And my analysis has been saying to stay long this bull market since February. It is very easy to lose a good position by jumping in and out for no good reason. I know a lot of so-called gurus have talked people out of their positions and charged them for the bad advice. And other “experts” have not told anyone to go long since this whole thing became a bull market. That is a pity.
