   That’s an amazing chart. I’m always shocked when I see a simple trendline crossing decades of market action. This really clarifies this week’s action because it seemed like WTI was hooking up with some new trend. Looks like it’s really a very old trend. The market seemed to be changing just like the seasons. The chart though, is a much more objective confirmation.

   The high of this week’s trading bumped right up against that 15-year trend line. Until broken, I guess standard technical analysis theory would say that that line is resistance and most likely to keep the price action below it. On the other hand, a break out would signal significant momentum upwards since it’s such a longstanding trend. There’s always something new and interesting each week.

   EIA forecasts that Brent crude oil prices will average $59/bbl in 2015 and $75/bbl in 2016, both unchanged from last month’s STEO. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) prices in 2015 and 2016 are expected to average $7/bbl and $5/bbl below Brent, respectively
