Starting 2 days ago, Australians are now required to upload their ID to use a search engine.
Digital ID. Age checks. Biometric gateways.
The premise is for age identification… to monitor what minors see on the net.
I remember many years ago, my then 5 year old daughter typing into a search engine, “games for Barbie” and going to a porn site.
It was a work laptop computer with no constraints in the search engine.
This is tough to call… i dont want to be watched by govt but I also like controls for kids.
