Why isn’t the legislative branch of US Gov’t codifying into law the changes that Trump is making??
Codifying involves both House and Senate Passing the Bill
The senate requires 60 votes…Repubs have 53
The only way they can codify is to put the measures into the One Big Reconciliation Budget Bill..which only requires a Senate majority
BUT there is a Senate “Referee” who can nix any item that does not belong in a Reconciliation Budget Bill
These Rules are archaic so there needs to be give and take on all sides
Still need to start with a House bill.
And MJ denying the “cancel” likely means it wasn’t even really on the schedule in the first place.
