Sanctions — what darn sanctions? The EU has withdrawn the purchase of Russian fertilizers from sanctions after a sharp rise in gas prices
Poland increased purchases by 2 times, France – by 5 times, Germany – by a third, Bulgaria – by 25 times, Romania – by 54 times, Ireland – by 18 thousand times.
For Europe, Russia is number one in fertilizers, while for Russia, the EU market is not the main one.
Last year, EU fertilizer production fell by 8.4% to 28.2 million tonnes. The production of phosphate fertilizers fell by 64% – to 0.43 million tons, the production of potash fertilizers fell by 12.5%, to 2.1 million tons, and mixed fertilizers – by 9.5% – to 11.4 million tons.
About 20% of European enterprises have closed, and the remaining ones operate at only 40% of their capacity.
