SEEMS TO BE A MANY TIMES WHEN A PRESIDENT WON RE-ELECTION AFTER MID TERM WHIPEOUTS AND LOST RE-ELECTION AFTER A DECENT MIDTERM SHOWING
TRUMAN 1946… LOST 56 SEATS …AND IN 1948 RE-ELECTED
…… 1950….LOST ( ONLY)28 SEATS….AND IN 1952 HIS PARTY LOST TO EISENHAUER
REAGAN 1982….LOST 22 SEATS….AND IN 1984 RE-ELECTED
OBAMA 2010…..LOST 64 SEATS…AND WON RE-ELECTION IN2012
…… 2014 ….LOST (ONLY) 13 SEATS…AND HIS PARTY LOST IN 2016 TO TRUMP

There is a large group of non affiliated voters.
In fact, last I saw, this group was LARGER than registered Republicans AND FAR LARGER than registered Dems.
This group started getting larger with George Wallace and then Ross Perot. Some more with Ron Paul.
But essentially, these people kept rejecting incumbents in favor of the other party.
BUT neither DNC nor RNC fulfilled the campaign promises that lured in the independents.
Until Trump (up to a point).
They aren’t fickle AT ALL. They are disgusted by the UniParty and its control.
AND THEY HAVE NOWHERE TO GO.
