YIKES ……ARE THESE 2 STORIES RELATED ? I SURE HOPE NOT
Saw two comments …. one involved icing conditions flying through the so FL storms at 35k ft.
the other was that the images before the crash were missing the tail wing stabilizers.
My novice interpretation … plane should have descended while over the Gulf to thaw altitude.
My guess …. fuel consumption is lower at higher altitudes ??

Like the TWA 747 Crash over Long Island 30 or so years ago I would not expect a trustworthy final analysis to ever be released on this one.. Short of flying into a thunderstorm and encountering severe turbulence tails just don’t fall off of airplanes
