Excellent — would all readers please give AA feedback — do you find info useful to you — what additional info would make it a useful tool?
Minor items – mostly presentation — some will call them nits but they might help
1) WHAT DOES FRASER PPI mean –> perhaps add to index line (see below)
2) ON CORE CHALLENGERS PAGE –> Is there room in that 1st column to insert the Jurisdiction/Fraser PPI column
3) On CORE CHALLENGERS PAGE –> What does score really mean –> how is it different from Jurisdiction/Fraser PPI –> Why don’t the CORE FIVE have a score also
—> in other words why is the first page different from the second page in ranking & what goes into the making of the numbers –> consistency (you might not want to totally define the EXACT calculation)
4) Today’s news review could easily bump this to several more pages if the core group all dumped NR’s at the same time or are you always only going to pick one company to highlight (if so are you going to include CORE & CHALLENGERS when picking the one company to highlight)
5) Colour coding –> Current –> STATUS ? Producer ? Near-term producer/developer S/O QUALITY ? Excellent ? Good
So the Coloured dots are –> green = producer & blue = near term QUality — green = excellent & blue = good
Thought — mix colours to differentiate — IE: Status > Producer = Green Near Term = Orange –> Quality > Blue = Excellent Yellow = good (whatever you like — just not green & blue back to back for both categories AS WELL AS green & blue are both dark so mix a dark with a light tone)
Then REPEAT the finalized line immediately below CORE CHALLENGERS HEADLINE LINE –> (it’s a second page — repeat the index for ease of use)
1) The Fraser Institute’s Policy Perception Index (PPI) In economics and global business, PPI stands for the Policy Perception Index. It is published annually by the Fraser Institute, an independent Canadian public policy think tank. It’s a ranking put out every year by an established Institute. To me, it serves as a guideline.
2) Probably, I’ll work with my junior analyst
3) It’s a score I’ve developed based on what I deem most important with weightings assigned. This produces the score that you see. I may want to label the score something like Core 5 Score. I don’t want to tell everyone what it is, I’d consider it intellectual property.
4) Today’s news on page 1 I wanted to keep it only news associated with the Core 5. This is what you’re paying for, so only want to include that on page 1. Daily scan focuses on the Core 5 co’s and will highlight any news that is significant.
5) junior analyst screwed up the colors, thanks. He needs more dots. The major thrust of this newsletter focuses on producers. We’re gonna hit single and doubles, and do great. We don’t need to swing for the fences to score a lot of runs.
6) Thanks, good idea.
The goal is only 2 pages as this is meant to be an easily and quickly viewed info. You can digest this in less than 5 minutes easily. However, when news is abundant, it will expand appropriately.
