A corporation the U.S. Department of Agriculture classifies as Chinese-owned paid $21.2 million in cash for more than 1,500 acres of California farmland roughly 16 miles from the Navy’s principal West Coast fighter-jet base, according to federal and county records reviewed for this article.

It’s amazing how we let them do this. The Chinese must think our government is truly stupid. They would never allow American government backed entities or anyone for that matter, even their own citizens to buy land in China. The most Chinese citizens can do is acquire land use rights. The land is owned by the their government and is called a collective.
