The way this reads — Trump was having a private conversation with Jonathan Karl which Karl has now repeated to the world. My question is not whether he said it as Karl would be extraodinarily stupid to release a false discussion but rather:
a) Did Trump have a private “on the record” conversation with ABC news?
AND
b) did Trump authorize the release of said private conversation (if it WAS private) to the public.
The quote itself certainly sounds like something DJT would say!
