Scott Dexter, a former fraud investigator with Minnesota’s Dept of Human Services, explains how the state ignored fraud for years (despite warning signs).
He uncovered overbilling and missing attendance records in the Child Care Assistance Program, much of it concentrated in Somali-run operations.
Dexter was labeled “racially biased,” even though every case he pursued came straight from funding data.
Instead of cracking down on fraudsters, the state cracked down on the investigators, pushing him to retire in 2019.
Everyone involved in this cover-up, including state leaders, must be held accountable.
They knew tax dollars were being stolen and did NOTHING.
