If the Supremes hold to their past ruling that a President can’t be charged for an official act while conducting his role as President does that allow him to create a fraudulent act of treason and conspiracy to conduct treason? If that gets included you have no country. If any President is exempt from anything, it is untenable. The purpose of making President’s immune from criminal prosecution is to not interfere while they are in office, which is why impeachment is the remedy. After out of office if it was a crime and had nothing to do with carrying out the role of being President he should be prosecuted. Don’t know how the Supremes would rule on the specific case but again if a President can do anything, then there is no rule of law and no country.
There do have to be boundaries on that immunity, for sure.
My guess is you lock up the others and throw away the key.
Then sentence Obama to a decade of court cases and fritter away his retirement.
But now what if Shrub in 2008 saw in Soetoro the arrival of a Manchurian candidate, would he be free to do what Elite & Co & their puppets tried to do with Trump after 2016? Under “Immunity”? Same issue, just different assessments.
