Kicking The Can – Nothing Will Change
Trump’s two week window is just more of his can kicking, much like with the tariffs. At least in the case of the tariffs, it allowed for one on one negotiations with a large number of players. In the case of Iran I don’t see anything changing. Israel tried and failed to take out the facility with conventional ordinance. They say they don’t need help, but that is only true if they don’t rule out using a tactical nuke. The better alternative which is where I see this ultimately going, is the US not doing the bombing itself, but providing the bunker busters to Israel. I don’t know if Israel has the proper aircraft and pilot training to use the bunker busters. Let’s say they either do, or that could be what the two week delay provides. Training and practice runs? The Israeli’s are not going to be satisfied with anything less than the facility being destroyed. The Iranians are not going to agree to any deal that stops their goals, so the US choice is to provide the bombs to Israel or do the deed themselves. Unless some typle of false flag is orchestrated, where a US base or ship is attacked, then the US is unlikely to do it themselves. They will most likely provide the bunker busters after negotiations fail to resolve the stalemate.
