GMG flew to London the other day. Encountered a minority of recent immigrants on trains, etc. They are mainly in the larger cities and the Home Counties. In Liverpool the same experience. Now in the Lake District where it’s like the old Britain. They congregate around the major airports. She is hearing lots of Labour remorse and they say that “Stammer” was a bait and switch same as Carney will be.
But there is a difference between the UK and Canada. The UK has predominately migrants from Islamic countries, possibly due to the proximity to the country. They will not assimilate.
I don’t know about the rest of Canada but in BC the recent immigrants I encounter are predominately from India. Hindus and Sikhs.
Sure there are Africans and from the ME but they are in the minority. The Chinese have always been here from the Hong Kong transition to China so I don’t know how recent they are.
There may be troubles down the road as the Hindus and Sikhs are a little should I say “racists”, LOL, as they absolutely hate Muslims.
Must go back to the Partition of India and deep seated conflict. I’ve been asking at construction sites around me in Vancouver. The Subcontractors are not Muslim but mostly Sikhs. They only hire Muslims for day labourers. Say they are not skilled or motivated and don’t assimilate. Hahahaha. Also the Hindus and Sikhs don’t want to convert others at the point of a sword. They work long hours and want to get ahead. Most of the ones who can now vote, appear to be voting for the Conservatives. Want nothing to do with DEI and Trans ideology.
It’s the fooking white Boomer Women and their hen pecked husbands, if they have one, who are screwing us again.
The Chinese are the largest minority here. Almost never see them in the trades. I have no idea if the are pro-CCP or not. They don’t appear to mix with the others. Many of the Chinese now have foofoo dogs where the other groups are wary of my medium Labradoodle and will avoid him on the sidewalk. He’s starting to get a complex, hahahaha. If they like dogs they can’t be that bad.
Down the road, if the groups don’t mix or assimilate, we will have a big problem.
Maybe we just have to sit back and let them beat on each other like back home in the Asian subcontinent. Let it all play out.
