Sleek New Chinese EVs Are “Taking Over” In Emerging Markets
Chinese EVs like Great Wall, BYD, Chery, and SAIC are flooding the streets in places other than the U.S., according to a new report from Bloomberg. While the U.S., Canada, and the EU impose tariffs to protect domestic automakers, emerging markets are embracing Chinese vehicles, creating fresh competition for global carmakers. Bloomberg writes that China now leads global vehicle exports, shipping 4.9 million passenger cars in 2024—up from less than 1 million in 2020, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.

I posted a clip on BYD now can charge in 5 minutes with their solid state battery. Yes we prop up a couple of union auto plants and the rest of Canada suffers. BMW profits down 37%. A funny BMW video. Can’t agree more on the junk they pump out now , older models were great, my 2007 over 400,000 km now and snagged a ’05 mint with 50,000 km last year so am happy.

Don’t Emerging Market nations need operative electrical grids to recharge them?
Been to S Afr, Dom Rep, Puerto Rico, much of Africa, lately?
They can’t keep the lights on there.
