I watched the entire thing on PBS (nearly real-time), no cuts.
I do know from anecdotal accounts that editorial headlines summarizing the speech hit Apple and Android OS phones almost immediately.
1) of course everyone’s phone knows the users’ political bent
2) Fox (and friends) – headlines cast shade on the speech for conservatives/repubs – ‘why is he still running in non-swing states’ ‘could trump accept the endorsement of another weasle’ (I’m paraphrasing).
3) headlines for libs was basically ‘Jr’s own family is denouncing his decision’ – ZERO about the content of the speech.
Basically the “smart”phone newsfeed effort was to keep anyone from watching the entire speech, which of course should be required viewing as MJ says.
