We were lucky enough to live in the state of VT for 2 years; NH is right across the Connecticut River and I was over there weekly to grocery shop. At pretty much every state border, there is a “Welcome to NH” sign which also proudly stated their motto:
“Live Free or Die”
It’s on all their licence plates too.
Pleased to hear they are slowly going back to their founding credo
