     I’d prefer the lower range of door number 3 ($3500 to maybe $5000). Gold at $24k implies a world I don’t think I want to see.

       The world is going to serve up things none of us sensible folks want to see. But it is going to do it anyway. When the U.S. dollar fails as the world’s reserve currency, or it gets severely devalued (you choose) $24,000 is in the bag.

   Oldie but goodie NS! I think we could have 24k gold and the world be ok. We had 20k bitcoin and hardly a soul knew about it. Or it could happen under a new monetary system they roll out. Who knows? But agreed I don’t want to see 24k either if any country is lobbing nukes.

   Governments and banks aren’t going to let common folk benefit from 24k gold, expect extraordinary taxation or some trick along the lines of 1933 first. What I do wonder about is whether junk silver may one day serve a role in peer-to-peer transactions when all currency goes 100% digital (privacy and doesn’t require electricity to function – both of which most millennials care nothing about) .

   Two things I don’t hear from most who argue in favor of preserving cash is Freedom to transact with whomever and Privacy. Also ironic that globalists who are always virtue signaling about helping the poor and disadvantaged also want to do away with their ‘un-banked’ status. Remember the chaos caused by Modi in India – the people most adversely affected were the poor. Cash is unsafe and might have cooties (covid) – I’ve already had a young person give me that argument when responding to a local ad of mine.
