   Nice to see gains like today. The morning dullness was a total head-fake. I track real-time price action in gold on investing.com using a Hekin Ashi chart. Gold simply walked up the hill today – hardly a red candlestick to be seen anywhere. Eventually it became clear that $1235 was going to be taken out and the stocks started their climb.

   This is an amazing phenom; the never ending second guessing of precious metal investors. Perhaps its because many of us have been burned so badly, some burned alive, that there is this always nagging thought “this it not real, we are going to be taken out behind the woodshed yet again, I am selling now.” Yet as Spock notes, the really serious money is made by getting right and sitting tight. Got a bud talking with me today about “should I have sold this stock when I was up 100% and now I’m only up 50%.” Which means, of course, as soon as he sells, the stock will blow past his old 100% gain and add another 50%.

   I’m using options to raise cash for the next pullback – perhaps not the entire market, but there are always individual pullback buying opps – to add more shares and more companies. It is the only thing I am comfortable with while sitting tight with my positions. This thing has barely begun and I am 25% ahead of my targeted gains for the year. Thanks once again to Fully, Spock, Graddhy, Novus, Bikoo, EagleSeagle and the rest of the great posters here. You, too, North, when you show up. I seldom am capable of remembering all the names when writing a note like this, but there is hardly anyone who posts here regularly that I have not benefited from.

   If I am feeling this confident at this point in time, I simply don’t know how I am going to deal with myself come August-September…..

   Meanwhile, over at the “other place” they are still complaining about how fickle gold is and what a terrible market precious metals is. Heh.
