   This was the perfect trade. Most (90%) were so sure of the result and positioned on that basis.

   And as usual, most got it very wrong.

   They were fed the rubbish by the mainstream media, and most sucked it all up as the truth. And placed trades and bets based on that false information. The mainstream media is now also complicit with the swamp.

   Trump was always going to win based on the sea change globally that is now occurring. Brexit was the first example. Trumpt is the next. Others will follow, France, Germany, etc as the people have finally decided its time to drain the swamp.

   The truth of the matter is that Trump is good for the markets generally. He is a businessman not a politician. In the longer term the markets will understand this. But for now, they are totally brainwashed by a system which is fundamentally corrupted and flawed, and needs to go.

     Ron and Rand Paul were at the front of the liberty movement. The media had a lot of fun making those guys look like racists and bigots. The republican establishment excluded them and also fed the fire that they were racists. Unlike the Pauls, like it or not, Trump is charismatic and has the ability to make things very simple for the blue collar worker living in the rust belt so they don’t have to read a 500 page book on Austrian economics. I’ve also heard the personality of getting things done, the difference from a ‘billionaire’ and ‘millionaire’ are ‘tremendous’.

   Like Volker in the late 70’s, I believe Trump (or his admin) will have the nads to have the markets endure some temporary pain in order to get on a more sustainable long term footing of true price discovery. I’m interested to see how the bond market reacts near term – esp as he (correctly IMO) believes Yellen’s politically motivated ZIRP policy is counterproductive – or if he stays that course, he’ll surely be called out on it. Good times.

     Normal interest rates bankrupts or severely impairs any entity servicing debt. There is no way out.
     Volker did not have this enigmatic condition to deal with.
