” Looks like Primary IV is underway, unless the market can rally strongly next week.”

36% in one day… That is “+” 36% in one day. UVXY still scares me but I went over Friday’s price action plotting and re-plotting a channel on the 1-minute chart and watching the 13/34 and would have made 12% from market open to about 11:46 when the price opened and closed below the 34, which is where I would have sold.
What bugs me is how much of the daily gain comes in the opening gap up (or down). I would never hold UVXY overnight unless I had some stronger trading method. But one can learn an awful lot about trading in general just by trading UVXY. It’s just more volatile I think. A whole week’s worth of market action in one morning.
On the plus side, it’s less stressful than waiting for a top and rollover in the PMs. I might try this out strictly as a daytrade, 1-minute thing since volatility is quite likely to be going up. A bull market for volatility.
The key here is looking for setups and trade only the setups…The Bollinger band constriction is the signal here. Exactly, just watching UVXY does give a warning to SM turns…Could just trade SPXU with the BB constriction signal on UVXY. I did get kicked out of the trade–thought SPX 2040 would hold–jumped back in. Use the 13/34 on the 30 minute with heikin ashi format and hang on! When UVXY starts to breach the 13 MA–use caution. I would not chase now, just watch the setups. Always calm before the storm with UVXY. SVXY (inverse VIX) has been the trade for the past couple of years; however, now it’s UVXY time.
Also, Tim, when you took your last trade you entered after the fact of the BB squeeze. The VIX was still in a downtrend. Now that the VIX is going up, one would be trading with the trend. The hardest aspect of this trade is FEAR. Follow the signals.
Eagle, is this the right set up?

Yes, Gary. Wait on this trade now…too late to enter as you know. Expecting a big bounce; the best is yet to come on UVXY. When I see a set up will share. This is a trade you do ONLY when you can monitor all day and get in early.
Got it, thanks. Appreciated.
