Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Pakistan invited Iran to join newly-established Mecca defense pact – report – Jerusalem Post
The invitation has not yet been officially confirmed by Iran’s Foreign Ministry or by any of the three countries that are parties to the agreement. The Mecca Agreement for Mutual Defense, is the new security alliance established by Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan.
Mehdi Rahimi, head of the Iranian parliament’s Khaneh Mellat news agency, told the channel that “Iran has received an invitation to join the Mecca Agreement, and the matter is under review.”

Hard to imagine such an invitation being extended while IRAN is in the middle of war with USA ….. Supposedly, the Mecca defense pact places Article 5 style requirements on members. Also wasn’t IRAN accused of shooting missiles at Turkey on multiple separate occasions (shot down before they arrived) …… could be fog of war propoganda.
While it could very well just be fog of war propoganda, it could also serve as a back channel for peace negotiations. If Iran considered and accepted they would know they would have to change their behavior towards their neighbors.
