For some reason, people in elite circles warrant an appeal response from the US Senate – to the extent of overriding Presidential powers.

The point here is not whether he should get one, but rather a demonstration of string-pulling amongst the elite.  Guaranteed 99.999999% of those in prison seeking a pardon are NOT getting the unanimous attention of the US Senate.
